You can put Knocki on a wall, under a table, behind a shelf or a door and it will have a solid connection to the whole surface to detect the gesture signals. Hence anything can turn into a smart interface
Just tap anywhere in the surface and Knocki will identify it. The actions will be triggered by the quantity of taps or for more functionality, you can set patterns of different amount of taps.
Knocki works well anywhere with a Wi-Fi internet connection. Setting it up just takes a few minutes: Connect it to a Wi-Fi network and link your devices and accounts through the companion app.
Once it is mounted to a surface, define the gestures to trigger the actions. Knocki will continue working via Wi-Fi even if the phone is turned off.
Using sophisticated software and hardware algorithms can tell between deliberate taps and random vibrations from the environment to minimise false positives. Nor it is affected by sound, so there can be many Knocki devices in the same room without any interference problem. Despite all this functionality, Knocki can last up to 12 months with a single use of AAA batteries.
